I’m not going to delete what I’ve written below, because it’s where I was. But it’s not where I am now. So here’s the updated version.
I was an overweight, unfit mother and step mother of 4. Then one day I decided to change my life. So I stopped eating, and started restricting. It worked, I lost weight. Until I realised that I was no longer healthy. So I started eating again.
So here I am, eating. Eating to nourish and nurture my body and my spirit. And moving to strengthen my body, not to punish it, or to “burn off” calories. I move because it makes me feel good, physically and emotionally.
That down there? That was my story. Now I’m writing a new one…
The first version: I
am was an overweight, unfit mother and step mother of 4. Then one day I decided to change my life.
I discovered Michelle Bridges’ online program, the 12 Week Body Transformation. It literally changed my life. I am an armchair expert in healthy eating and nutrition and exercise, but I’ve never managed to put it into practice. Michelle gave me the mental tools necessary to transform my mind and my body.
I also found the amazing Erin and Charles at Sweat Depot. These guys are insane, and motivating, and incredibly supportive of my initially pathetic but rapidly improving efforts in the exercise department.
I now run, and lift heavy stuff, and eat reasonable amounts of food that comes from nature, not a plastic packet. I get up at insane hours (4:30 am on Christmas Eve? Who does that?) to run up mountains with the most inspiring, amazing group of people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I have made some incredible new friends, and for the first time in my life I feel good about myself.
This blog is my story.
Feel free to send me a message.
